Charlie Leggate

Charlie Leggate is a venture capitalist focused on frontier technologies. He is a Partner at Anorak Ventures, an active angel investor and the GP and founder of The Carnegie Fund.

Charlie initially sat on the founder side of the table, co-founding Avie AI, a healthtech company that sold to Holland & Barrett in 2023. Before that he consulted private and public organisations across the UK, Europe and North America in the global sports, technology and media industries.

Charlie grew up in Manchester, the home of the Industrial Revolution, but now resides in San Francisco, the home of the AI revolution, with his wife Rachel and daughter Beatrix.

Charlie holds regular speaking and teaching engagements at Stanford and Berkeley and has previously been recognised as a 30 under 30 in the sports industry. He holds a BA from the University of York and was an IS Scholar, spending a year studying at the University of Chicago and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Outside of investing, Charlie is a keen skier and sailor, and he loves to run trails across the Marin Headlands.
